FEMA has requested that all emergency responders are trained in the National Incident Managment Sytem.

FEMA has set a deadline of September 30th, 2006 for agencies to show compliance in order for the agency to be eligible for Department of Homeland Security Grants. This include the Firefighter Assistance Grants and the grants used to purchase the 800mhz equipment last year. This applies not only for the NBVFD but the City of Nassau Bay.

The NBVFD will offer the training required, the members will be responsible for completing the required testing, then providing the Assistant Chief and/or Chief proof of the course completion. This may be the email you receive from FEMA after the completion of the test or the certificate you receive.

ALL MEMBERS ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO COMPLETE THIS TRAINING BY SEPTEMBER 1ST, 2006.

When completing the form for the test, use Local Goverment in the selection box and use the station phone number (281-333-2677) for the phone number contact.
